W/E 10th March 2019 – Match Reports

Three games today, one senior and two junior. The senior second team had an early start with a 9.30 throw off against South London KC in Tooting. We discussed our training session on Wednesday and the key themes. We looked comfortable from the beginning but conceded first. the first half went back and forth and was all square at the break. The second half started in the same way but we pushed hard, scored a few unanswered goals and took control as the half went on. We had a lot of shots but didn’t convert enough. But in the end we put the game beyond the opposition and took the points with a 7-12 win.

Next up a windy trip down the M20 to Snodland for games against Bearsted and Tornadoes. Our U11s who took on Bearsted. Team talk was all about quick passing and movement. the team took it on board and went out and starting fizzing the ball about. very tight though and neither team dominated. We struggled to defend running in shots and tried to rectify that at half time. good second half and a very good performance and the points with a 5-6 win.

Last up our U13s against Tornadoes – always close and high tempo these encounters. Today’s game followed the same script. lots of chances and not enough taken. Missed chances can always come back to haunt you and so it was today. After a very tight game Tornadoes took the points with a 3 goal margin. Great to see so many England u15s against each other. Real positives from this game and some great performances as well. 2 from 3 today so happy coach this evening.
