Today was the last day of the league season for our junior and senior leagues.
Our 3rd team travelled the short distance to Royal Russell school to take on Croydon 5. Our youthful team had an average of 15 but what they lack in years is offset by their skill level.
It was a game that Croydon lead for the first half and at 6-1 down in the first half we had it all to do.
The second half saw the youthful Bromley team step up a gear or two and Croydon were unable to stay with us. We pulled the game back to 8-8 and feel we should have taken the points.
Next up our u9s who started a triple header of games against Kingfisher. Our youngest players showed great skill and teamwork, playing with enthusiasm. They won the game 11-1
Our u13s were next up. We set about our task in a determined way and scored twice before being pegged back. It was a tight affair for the first 15 minutes. We stepped up the pace and the game swung back in our favour. From this point on we took control of the game and scored some great goals and took the points with an emphatic 14-4 win.
Last up our u11s this group is developing into a really good team and showing improvement week on week.
We looked a little out of sorts in the 1st 10 minutes so a timeout was needed to put things right. The team responded and began to play with real skill and flair. It was all square with 5 minutes to go and two quick unanswered goals gave us the points. It’s been a great league season and we can now focus in 3 cup finals. Go Bromley!!!
