Today saw our 1sts and 2nds play their first home games of the season. So the 1st’s lined up against Highbury 3 for the 2nd time in two weeks. Last week we took the points comfortably. Today however was a little different, we started slowly before getting our game together. We managed to get ahead 7-3 before Highbury pulled it back to all square. We took a one goal lead into half term. Despite pushing hard we couldn’t seem to get any fluidity into our game. We stuck to it though and going into the last five minutes managed to pull it back to a draw after Highbury looked like they might take the points but a fine goal in the dying minute from Amy secured a valuable 16-15 win.

Next up our 2nds against Croydon 3. We’ve not had the best result against croydon 3rds I. The last few years. Our youthful team were untested in this league so we didn’t know how they’d fare though we needn’t have worried they set about the task with real skill and scored goals with great style. Our youth gave us the edge and we limited their attacks and scored freely. We took the points with a 17-5 win. A great opening game and are so proud of the team.
