W/E 19th November 2017 – Match Reports

Weekend roundup time!

Yesterday was another busy day at the club with 5 teams in action. First up our 2nd team who had the early start with a 10am game against Supernova 5 at Milwall. We were delighted to have our latest signing from Croydon KC Josh carvery in the team. The oldest player in the team today was 17. We talked about good recent performances without getting results and games were we’d managed to get ahead but not hold the lead. No such problems today though after we observed a minutes silence as a mark of respect to Sue Seaton, club member and mother of one of our players who passed away this week.

The game started brightly for us and we took an early lead that we never let slip for the remainder of the game. The entire team was firing on all cylinders as we scored regularly and snuffed out the Supernova attacks, our boys did an excellent job dominating the rebound and our girls scoring 9 of our 15 goals. Some great performances but it was the team performance and spirit the really impressed. Great goal scoring from Sean and Millie who each bagged 4, Frankie 3, Martha 2 and 1 each from Ben and Ed. Final score 15-4 to Bromley, onward and upwards from here!

Next up our 1st team who took on Supernova 1 at trinity. We hoped to build on last weeks amazing result against Trojans but it wasn’t to be. Our error count again cost us dearly. Despite keeping things close in the early stages Supernova scored a number of unanswered goals to take a 5 goal lead into half time and this proved to much in the second half. despite some excellent performances Supernova took the points with a 22-11 win.

Next our U9s who made the trip to Snodland to face Bearsted. The team was Ben, Ollie, Thomas, Alexa and jacob. No record breaking score this week but a very good performance. by all. Good team work, nice attitude to the game and a 3-1 win. Goals from Ben and Thomas this week but a very fine team performance. Well done all.

Next up our U11s who this faced Bearsted Rams in the Kent League. We were again joined by Jack and Jo from Hayes Primary school and Kushala from Highfied. We were delighted to see Liv play her first league game for Bromley. The start may have suggested we might win this game comfortably as we took and early lead and seemed to be able limit Bearsted’s attacks we looked comfortable with a 3-0 lead but Bearsted fought hard and got back into the game mid way through the second half it was 3-2 to us and though we scored a fourth the came back again but we say the game out 4-3. well done guys and especially to Liv and Kushala who played in their first games.

Last and by no means least our U13s took on unbeaten Tornadoes who were coached by the England Senior and u19 coaches. We were buoyed by the presence of Teo today. The game started well for Bromley and we took a 3-0 lead but we struggled to contain some quality players on the opposition side and the ball shots stopped dropping for Bromley. The second half was a very tight affair but maybe a combination of tiredness (3 of our players had come directly from a football game) and the quality of the Tornadoes saw them pull away in the closing 5 minutes taking the points with an 8-5 win. There was a lot of quality on show today though from Bromley and we will be in the mix at the end of the season for sure. Some great goals from Teo today who scored a hat trick.
