W/E 3rd December 2017 – Match Reports

The weeks round up starts with our 2nd and 3rd team playing in a midweek game at Langley watched by lots of eager supporters.

Some stats, average age of the 3rd team 13, average age of the 2nd team 16. So the young challengers were looking to upset the form book and the 2nds determined to show who the youngster a thing or two

The game started at a great pace with both teams passing the ball with speed and precision. The goals started to flow but neither side was able to pull away. At half time the game was tied and all to play for but the experience of the 2nds mid second half was telling and 5 goals from Ed and 4 from Frankie proved too much and the seconds took the points 14-11. Not a bad advert for the club with 25 excellent goals and real quality coming through our youth programme.

Next up two Sunday fixtures in snodland in the kent junior league. Our u11s played first against Bearsted. It was another mixed team with kushala, Jack and Joe helping out again.

The first 10 minutes were close with us managing to creep ahead. The second half went our way and we took the points with an emphatic 7-1 win. Goals from Liv, Charlie, Lewis, kian and sienna all contributing but an outstanding 2 from kushala topped of a great start to the day.

Next up our u13s who had to rely on Charlie and Lewis to get a team out.

You could see how the game develops as you get older as the pace of this game was electric. It was the tightest of games and all the conversations were about trying to minimise mistakes and expressing ourselves. At half time it was close with only a goal in it. 2 super penalties from captain Lucie cooly dispatched. The last 10 minutes were great to watch for the neutrals but very anxiety provoking for me. Goals traded by each team and despite our best efforts we could claw back the last few goals and lost 9-7. Great performances by everyone with real character on show and despite Teo peppering the Bearsted basket the goals wouldn’t drop.

Very proud of all teams this week. Juniors are all 2nd in the league at this stage.

Happy days.
