W/E 6th October 2019 – Match Reports

So today was the start of the 2019/20 korfball season for Bromley Korfball Club. Our senior 1st team travelled north of the river to take on Highbury 3. It was a tentitive start and we allowed Highbury to take the initiative. But we slowly pulled ourselves back into the game and went into half time a goal to the good. In the second half we finally began to play to our potential. We took the points with an emphatic win. Great to see every contributing from the starting eight to those who came on from the bench. A satisfying result but areas to improve.

Next up our U9s who travelled to Snodland for their first game of the season and for some first ever indoor league game. We spoke about enjoying the game and not about winning. We also wanted the players to enjoy the game. They were truly amazing and played so well with great teamwork and some great individual performances and won 5-0. What a lovely bunch of players, Georgia and Olivia take a bow as your work on Fridays is paying dividends.

Last up our u11s who opened their campaign against Kingfisher. It was clear before first whistle that we had a height advantage as we as an extra player as the opposition were one down, that said our quality was also evident. We decided that we would play our game but not look to humiliate the opposition. We agreed to not take easy shots and we didn’t we peppered the opposition basket with long shots and scored 14. What a collective effort and very sporting too. The opposition coached asked me to say thanks especially to our captain Joe.

Well done very proud of you all.
