Our second team travelled to Ernest Bevin college to take on league leaders Bec 5 today in London league 3. Bec 5 hadn’t lost a game in the league before today so it was going to be tough ask both teams observed a minutes silence as a mark or respect to young Bec player lost in a tragic accident in Australia..
The game a tough one in a lot of ways with neither team able to establish dominance. It was a good old fashioned a scrap with both teams not giving an inch. We managed to sneak ahead by 2 goals at half time and talked about how we’d approach the second half.
The second half was even tougher than the first and Bec managed to pull back the two goals despite our best efforts. It was all square at 8 goals each with 2 minutes to go when Josh slotted a lovely mid range shot to make it 9-8 to us and we held out to inflict the first defeat of the season on Bec and start the season with a win
