W/E 9th February 2020 – Match Reports

So a busy weekend to report on.

Our senior first team were first up against local rivals Croydon. This is always a fixture with a little added spice. Both teams are vying for a place in next seasons promo league the first step into the national league.

The game was as tough as expected and although we got off to a good start Croydon pulled things back and then took a slender lead . We battled well, rode our luck at times and took the points 24-20. Our thoughts are with Amy who injured her knee for the second time against Croydon. We hope its not as bad as it initially appeared. Also big up to Tilly and Tiggy who stepped up and did amazingly well.

Up next our second team who also faced Croydon. Our last outing was a heavy defeat but we knew we’d grown as a team since then. It was every bit as spicy as the first team.game. Our youthful team were not to put off though as they are very able and strong. Although we were put under pressure by the experienced players we actually won the 2nd half but lost the game 12-18.. Let’s put game into context when we played this team a few months ago we lost 22-3 so this time around we scored 75% more goals and Croydon 25% less this shows how far this group has come in a short time.

Last up our juniors. London Korfball hold regular monthly games and we were able to field 3 u9, 5 U11, 2 U13 teams and our school link team from Hayes primary school. This is a credit to the amazing coaches, managers and parents who braved storm Ciara.

All the junior teams were absolutely fantastic and demonstrated great skill. Well done everyone.
