National Youth Day

What an absolutely wonderful day at National Youth Day 2022 on Sunday.

Firstly a massive thankyou to England Korfball for organising a fantastic event. A special mention to Sally and Lol More from Nomads Korfball Club , and to Karen Palfreyman and Lisa (Bec) for making sure that these events are such a success. You guys are the back bone of events like this and you should all be super proud of your efforts.๐Ÿฅฐ

Unfortunately due to covid there wasn’t as many teams this year, but it was fantastic watching so many Junior teams take part in a sport that we all love.

As a club we had 5 in this tournament, 2 teams at U9, 2 teams at U11 and an our U13 team who would be playing there last ever matches at this age group ๐Ÿ˜ข

With the results being as follows..

U13…Winners “Bromley” ๐ŸŽ‰

2nd place KV ๐Ÿงก

U11..Winners “Bromley A”๐ŸŽ‰

2nd Place “Croydon” ๐Ÿ’™

3rd Place “Bromley B”๐ŸŽ‰

U9…Winners “Hayes” ๐ŸŽ‰(also known as Bromley B on the day)

2nd place “Bromley A”๐ŸŽ‰

3rd place “Tornadoes” ๐Ÿ–ค

(This final three were all amazing teams and all deserving of that gold medal!)

We are so proud of each and everyone of our children who took part, yes the results for us as a club are amazing, but our goal this year was to encourage more children to take up the sport and that goal has been achieved, with over 250 children playing across school clubs and our training sessions.

A massive thankyou to all that supported our poorly Coach Natalie on the day..to Darren, Sarah, Jack, Charlie and Ella for managing to the teams, to our wonderful committee on hand, Jen, Kathryn and Denise (Denise they loved the ice cream delivery, thankyou!) And our young ref Livvy who did exceptionally well with her first major competition. (I would also like to thank Dave Bond and Richard Woodam for advice and guidance to Livvy in this role)

We could not do it without you all, and that’s why Bromley Korfball is not just a club, but its a family ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ–ค
